ONE GUYANA was a flagship project for SBM Offshore in 2025, with delivery and start-up marking major operational, financial, and sustainability milestones for the company and client ExxonMobil.
The vessel has had an outstanding first year’s performance and contributed significantly to fleet capacity and financial results, as well as setting new standards for sustainability and operational excellence. The vessel was sold to ExxonMobil Guyana in early 2026, with SBM continuing to operate it until 2035.
ONE GUYANA was built and delivered under SBM Offshore’s Fast4Ward program, which has dramatically accelerated floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) delivery, reduced costs, and enhanced health, safety, security, and environment (HSSE) performance. The vessel was the eighth FPSO delivered under this program, demonstrating the strength and maturity of the company’s standardized approach to FPSO delivery, and standing as another successful example of how operational excellence is embedded, from project execution through to long-term operations.
The vessel was subsequently awarded SUSTAIN-1 notation by ABS, reflecting advanced sustainability standards: pollution prevention, greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction, marine ecosystem protection, ship recycling, and crew well-being.
ONE GUYANA’s success has been built by a highly skilled workforce, reflecting SBM Offshore’s ongoing investment in the training and development of Guyanese talent, supported by the expertise of our global teams. This diversity has been one of the vessel’s greatest strengths. During her first year, up to 25 nationalities have worked together onboard, bringing a wealth of expertise and experience while supporting the development of local capabilities.
The vessel was one of three major, complex deepwater FPSOs (alongside Almirante Tamandaré and Alexandre de Gusmão offshore Brazil) that were brought online by SBM Offshore within a period of six months in 2025, and with a combined capacity of 655,000 barrels/day.
