The new product family combines proven functionality with updated display technology and a modern communication architecture. A key enhancement is stepper motor technology, which delivers more precise and stable indication than conventional moving-coil instruments while retaining the clear visual presentation bridge teams expect.
The new rudder angle indicator family is designed around NMEA communication as the primary interface. Anschütz is also introducing a new Rudder Calibration Unit (RCU), which replaces the previous signal calibration box. The RCU calibrates and distributes rudder angle information to bridge indicators, wing stations, steering gear rooms, and other connected systems, providing a streamlined setup for modern vessel installations.
The range includes rudder angle indicators for bridge and outdoor applications as well as rate-of-turn indicators based on the same display technology and operating principles. Adjustable illumination ensures consistent readability under varying operating conditions. Established components such as the feedback unit and the three-face rudder angle indicator remain part of the portfolio.
For replacement and retrofit projects, variants supporting analog signal inputs will also be available. These allow existing installations to be modernized while compatibility is maintained where required.
