THE WOODLANDS, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–AEGIS Hedging Solutions (“AEGIS” or the “Company”), a leading provider of commodity market intelligence, technology and market infrastructure, today announced the appointment of Jay Graham to its Board of Directors. Mr. Graham is Co-Chief Executive Officer of Spur Energy Partners LLC, the Houston-based oil and gas producer formed in 2019 with a commitment from KKR and The Energy & Minerals Group.

Mr. Graham has spent more than three decades in North American oil and gas and has built, taken public and sold two exploration and production companies. He served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of WildHorse Resource Development Corp. (NYSE: WRD), which he led through its December 2016 initial public offering and its sale to Chesapeake Energy Corporation in a transaction valued at approximately $3.977 billion at announcement, completed in February 2019. Before that, he was Chief Executive Officer of Memorial Resource Development Corp. (Nasdaq: MRD) through its merger with Range Resources Corporation, completed in September 2016. He co-founded and served as Co-Chief Executive Officer of WildHorse Resources I & II, LLC. He began his career in 1993 and held positions of increasing responsibility with Halliburton, Devon Energy and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation.

Throughout his career, he has built and led businesses backed by institutional investors including NGP, The Carlyle Group, KKR and EMG, taking companies through the full arc from formation to public listing to sale.

“Jay has sat on the side of the table our customers sit on, and he has done it at the highest level,” said Bryan Sansbury, Chief Executive Officer of AEGIS. “He has run producers, raised institutional capital, taken companies public and sold them. He knows what commodity price risk does to a capital program, a credit facility and a board conversation, because he has lived it. That is exactly the judgment we want in the room as we build the next phase of AEGIS.”

“AEGIS sits at the point where producers make their most consequential commercial decisions, and it has earned real trust doing it. The combination of advice, data and market infrastructure the Company has assembled is difficult to replicate, and the opportunity ahead of it is larger than what has been built so far. I am glad to be part of it,” said Mr. Graham.

Mr. Graham was appointed to the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents in 2019 and reappointed by Governor Greg Abbott in 2025. Mr. Graham currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Regents of the Texas A&M University System and as Vice Chairman of the Board of the University of Texas/Texas A&M Investment Management Company (UTIMCO). He is a member of the National Petroleum Council, the federal advisory committee to the U.S. Secretary of Energy, for the 2026-2027 term. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.

The appointment follows the acquisition of AEGIS by Private Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, which succeeded Greenbelt Capital Partners and Baird Capital as the Company’s institutional investment partner. AEGIS said at the time that the partnership would accelerate its investment in commodity-focused advisory, technology, artificial intelligence, proprietary data and regulated market infrastructure. Building a Board with direct operating experience in the markets AEGIS serves is an important part of that next phase.
