Supported by Energy Transition Zone Ltd (ETZ) through its Challenge Fund, the new facility features two dedicated test bays rated to 30,000 psi, significantly enhancing the company’s ability to manufacture, test, and validate advanced electrical and hydraulic connection systems for offshore applications.
The investment marks another important milestone for J+S Subsea as the company continues to broaden its capabilities across the offshore energy sector. The purpose-built test cell will support projects within traditional oil & gas, while also creating new opportunities in marine renewables, carbon capture and storage (CCS), decommissioning, and late-life asset support.
Designed to rigorously test electrical and hydraulic connection technology, the new facility will help ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable transmission of power in demanding subsea environments, providing clients with greater confidence in the performance of critical subsea equipment.
The investment also builds on J+S Subsea’s move to significantly larger premises in Dyce during 2024 and reflects the company’s continued commitment to investing in its people, facilities, and engineering capabilities to support long-term, sustainable growth.
