Vard Electro delivered two new operator stations to Aurora Sandefjord following a service assignment carried out at short notice in Bergen, Norway. The delivery was completed in less than 24 hours from the initial request and helped the vessel stay on schedule during its port call.
Aurora Sandefjord is an Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessel operated by Aurora Offshore, built for demanding offshore operations where high availability and reliability are essential. During an FMEA blackout test, the need arose to replace two operator stations. Vard Electro mobilized quickly, prepared the necessary components and dispatched a service engineer with fully configured equipment the same evening.
“What we appreciated most was how quickly Vard Electro adapted to find a solution. We experienced good dialogue, a high degree of flexibility and strong execution capability throughout the assignment,” said Thomas Hansen, Project & Dry-Docking Manager at Aurora Offshore
The new operator stations were manually configured and delivered on board within a tight timeframe. The assignment demonstrates how available expertise, system knowledge and effective coordination can be decisive in service and modification work for offshore vessels, particularly when rapid replacement and strong execution are required.
As part of the Fincantieri Group, Vard Electro draws on broad maritime expertise across shipbuilding, system deliveries and service. The assignment for Aurora Offshore demonstrates the value of an established service organization with the system knowledge, resources and agility to support vessels in operation.
