James Fisher (JFD Global), a global provider of specialist marine and defense solutions enabling mission success at sea, is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Laing as Commercial Diving Director and Danny Gray’s new role as Senior Advisor, Diving and Subsea.
Andrew joins JFD from the Unique Group, where he held various positions over the past 12 years, most recently as Director: Creation – Diving & Life Support. In this role he was responsible for the global strategic growth and development of customer aligned commercial diving and life support solutions.
Andrew brings over 20 years of international experience across the subsea, energy, and engineering sectors with a strong focus on business development, strategic growth, and customized technical solutions. His customer focused approach combines a strategic mindset with a hands-on understanding of what it takes to deliver market leading product – safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Andrew joins the business at an exciting time and will be conducting a phased handover with the current Commercial Diving Director, Danny Gray. Recently celebrating 40 years with JFD, Danny will be continuing his successful career as Senior Advisor – Diving and Subsea. In this role, Danny will lead relationships with key customers for the whole of James Fisher, as well as strengthening JFD’s role in industry bodies and international markets.
