ABL has been awarded the Rig Mover of the Year accolade at the 9th Offshore Jack Up Middle East (OJME) Awards 2024, held at the Hilton Jumeirah in Dubai.
“This achievement is a testament to the dedication and effort put in by each and every one in the Middle East region, from the accounts, admin and office teams to our technical staff, all contributions have been invaluable. Every rig move is planned and carried out to the highest standard with highly skilled surveyors,” comments Stephen Craig, ABL Group Director for Rig Operations who received the award on behalf of ABL Group.
Stephen has over 25 years of experience in the marine and offshore sectors, specializing in jack up operations, location approvals and all aspects of rig moving.
In addition to the gala, Stephen attended the conference alongside Thomas Currall, Senior Marine Surveyor, and Aishik Ganguly, Principal Marine Surveyor from the ABL UAE offices and shared his insights and expertise as a panelist on the topic “Towing Challenges for a Jack Up Rig”.
ABL provides comprehensive through-life support for rig moving procedures for jack-up rigs, mobile offshore drilling units (MODUs) and all other types of rigs supported by significant in-house engineering and design capabilities specializing in rig moving operations.
In 2023 alone, ABL has been involved in over 1200 rig move operations as either Marine Warranty Surveyors (MWS), hands-on rig mover/tow master or client representative, highlighting our deep expertise and commitment to excellence for the critical operations.
