James Fisher Subtech (JF Subtech), provider of specialist technical marine support to the renewables, oil and gas, civil works and salvage markets and part of James Fisher and Sons plc, has signed a charter agreement with Østensjø Rederi AS for the exclusive use of its inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) and construction vessel, Edda Savanah.

After implementing the vessel-to-cloud Vessel Insight technology to Guaibamax Bulk Carriers in 2020, Vale, iron ore producer and charterer of one of the world’s largest fleet of ore carriers, has signed with Kongsberg Digital to install Vessel Insight on four Valemax vessels.

The collaboration between ocean industries will need to intensify for the rapid buildout of offshore wind and aquaculture to coexist sustainably with other industries and the ecosystem. According to DNV’s Spatial Competition Forecast, the amount of ocean space occupied by installations will grow 5-fold by 2050.

Kraken Robotics is to support subsea solutions provider N-Sea with cable burial survey services during cable inspection and remedial burial campaign for a major interconnecting power cable asset in the North Sea. While contract values cannot be disclosed, Kraken has secured more than $1.4 million to date in Q1, 2023 in depth of burial and boulder detection project surveys.
