Fairplay Towage Group, one of Europe’s leading towage providers, has placed an order with Damen Shipyards for the delivery of two further tugboats, one of which is of the ASD Tug 2813 design, the other one being a tug fitted with azimuth stern drives and a bollard pull of 60 tonnes. The latter acquisition will be fitted with an aft winch for offshore towage. The ASD Tug 2813 boasts an impressive bollard pull in excess of 80 tons for harbour assistance. Both vessels will be fitted with external FiFi capabilities for swift response to emergencies.

Global offshore player RWE and the Swedish Port of Karlshamn have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The aim of this collaboration is to explore whether Port of Karlshamn could be a suitable harbor for the logistics, installation, operations and maintenance activities relating to RWE’s planned offshore wind projects in the Baltic Sea. In a first step, the partners will map the requirements and necessary build outs and investments to facilitate the scaling-up of the port’s capacity. An early implementation of port capacity will ensure that Sweden is well placed to maximize the potential of the offshore wind industry. This collaboration demonstrates a clear commitment to share knowledge and expertise, in support of broader industrial growth in Sweden.

Subsea 7 S.A. has been awarded a large¹ contract by Turkish Petroleum Offshore Technology Center AS (TP-OTC) relating to the Sakarya field development in the Black Sea, offshore Türkiye. The award will be booked in backlog in Q2 2024.
