Guyana has started the year with an exploration disappointment as a partner in the ExxonMobil-operated Canje block last week revealed that the first wildcat in the license failed to deliver. However, Rystad Energy expects exploration activity in the country to rebound with an annual record of 16 wells, including on the Stabroek block, also operated by ExxonMobil.

NEO Energy (“NEO”) and HitecVision announces the signing of a transaction that solidifies NEO’s position among the largest oil and gas producers in the UK. Based on current estimates NEO’s production will grow from circa 80,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) in 2021 to a stable production base in the period 2022 – 2026 of between 90,000 and 100,000 boepd. A growing and then stable production profile in this period gives NEO a unique position in the UK offshore oil and gas industry. About 55% of NEO’s production growth in this period will be operated by NEO.

Leading marine energy developer Minesto and Schneider Electric, a global leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, have entered a Memorandum of Understanding to work together to develop and build ocean energy farms based on Minesto’s Deep Green technology.

The UK is expected to drive the upcoming projects across oil and gas value chain in Europe, accounting for about 25% of the total projects which are likely to start operations by 2025. Rotech Subsea mobilized its next generation TRS2 Controlled Flow Excavation (CFE) and Suspended Jet Trenching tool to complete the jacket template and well-head reburial in the Southern North Sea in Q3, 2020. The Rotech RSG grab tool also assisted in the recovery of a PLET structure in the UK Southern Basin.

Bakker Sliedrecht and RH Marine will upgrade Roll Group’s ice class vessel BigRoll Bering with a Dynamic Positioning 2 system (DP2). This allows the 173 meter long module carrier to better maintain its position during loading and unloading. It also increases the deployability of the vessel for more complex transports, where a DP2 system is mandatory.

As part of the increasing demand for offshore surveillance, maritime analytics and data leader, GateHouse Maritime, has won a contract issued by gas transmission system operator, GAZ-SYSTEMS. With the 5-year contract, GateHouse Maritime will provide data analytics to automate monitoring of a new gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea which will deliver Norwegian gas to Danish and Polish households.

LFH Engineering, which is based in Scotland, has invested £250,000 to develop a specialist pump for the oil and gas industry, utilising expertise which it has built designing and manufacturing pumps for diesel engine cooling systems used on international shipping vessels, locomotive and emergency diesel generators to the nuclear industry.
