Shell Brasil Petróleo Ltda, a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell plc (“Shell”), and its bid consortium member Chevron Brasil Óleo & Gás Ltda (“Chevron”), have won a 35-year production sharing contract for the Saturno pre-salt block located off the coast of Brazil in the Santos Basin. Shell will pay its share of the total signing bonus for the block, equating to approximately USD $390 million [R$ 1,562 billion].

The crude oil production from the newly acquired 25 % interest in the Roncador oil field in Brazil will be lifted and transported by shuttle tankers. Equinor has now entered into time charter contracts for two newbuilt shuttle tanker with the shipowner Knutsen NYK Offshore Tankers AS (Knutsen). The tankers will be built at Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea.

Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) and Talos Energy as operator of the Block 7 Consortium, are announces that Pemex and the international Block 7 Consortium (Talos Energy, Sierra Oil and Gas, and Premier Oil) have signed a Pre-Unitization Agreement (PUA) related to certain tracts within the Amoca-Yaxche-03 allocation (assigned to Pemex as part of Round 0) and the contiguous Block 7 production sharing contract (assigned to the consortium by the National Hydrocarbons Commission as part of the first tender of Round 1).

Equinor has signed an agreement to acquire Chevron’s 40% operated interest in the Rosebank project, one of the largest undeveloped fields on the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS). Once concluded, the transaction will strengthen Equinor’s UK portfolio, which includes the Mariner development, attractive exploration opportunities and three producing offshore wind farms.

BSEE’s revisions reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens while ensuring that operations remain safe and environmentally responsible. The Bureau’s efforts on regulatory reform encourage responsible energy exploration and production on the Outer Continental Shelf to maintain the Nation's position as a global energy leader.

Byron Energy Limited announces that Byron Energy Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, has been advised by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (“BOEM”) that its bids for Main Pass 293, 305 and 306 leases, at Gulf of Mexico OCS Lease Sale 251 held on Wednesday 15 August 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana, have been deemed acceptable by BOEM and the leases have now been awarded to Byron.

Equinor has awarded Transocean a contract for drilling six wells on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) by use of the Transocean Norge mobile rig. Drilling start-up is scheduled for the summer of 2019.

The Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI) has announced three new member companies that together represent 5% of global oil and gas production as it welcomed Chevron Corporation, Exxon Mobil Corporation, and Occidental Petroleum. The three new companies will become official members of OGCI as of September 24, 2018.
