The next MTS Houston Section luncheon presentation will be held on September 27, 2018 and will feature a presentation by William Turner, Senior Research Analyst – Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Mr. Turner will present Deepwater Gulf of Mexico is ready to compete.

1 mtslogonewAlthough deepwater Gulf of Mexico has taken quite a beating over the last four years, the industry has clawed its way back to being competitive by significantly cutting costs, improved efficiencies and tightening of the supply chain. Now that costs have settled at the bottom and some operators have sharpened to peak efficiency, GoM is ready to compete with onshore tight oil. But it’s not clear sailing; challenges of inevitable inflation, a bifurcated market and holding onto these lessons learned will keep us on our toes.

William Turner; Senior Research Analyst – Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. William has a Bachelor’s degree in Ocean Engineering from Texas A&M University and spent over 10 years in deepwater installation, engineering and project management. In 2017 he finished a Master’s in Business from McCombs and transitioned to a Senior Research Analyst for commercial intelligence firm, Wood Mackenzie where he covers the Gulf of Mexico.
