As a world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry, the Prysmian Group is set to launch the most advanced cable layer in the world. The vessel, recently named Leonardo Da Vinci, will be added to the group’s already strong cable laying fleet in the second quarter of 2021 and incorporates innovative features that required the new battery power class notation to be developed by RINA, a global leader in marine classification.

VIKING Life-Saving Equipment has been declared the winning bidder in a tender covering three offshore high-speed ambulance boats that will support emergency services in the Aegean Sea.

The second of Damen’s innovative Accommodation Support Vessel (ASV) 9020 has been handed over to Bibby Marine Services at Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania. On her arrival in the North Sea, the Bibby WaveMaster Horizon will begin maintenance work off the coast of Germany on two EnBW and Enbridge-owned windfarms– Hohe See and Albatros – for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and EnBW.

Damen has just shipped a fully customised Cutter Suction Dredger (CSD) 350, to Brazil. The standard dredger was adapted to meet Brazilian Naval requirements and received additional options as per customer request. Damen has carried out the job very quickly; from contract signature to departure from the Port of Antwerp in just under four months.

Intellian, a global leader in mobile satellite communication antenna systems, has launched a satcom package for smart ships with marine engineering and service provider Hyundai Global Service (HGS), a subsidiary of the world’s No.1 shipbuilding company Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) group. This is the first joint project to come from the companies’ signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in July.

The delivery of the third Fast Crew Supplier (FCS) 2710 bought by Swansea, UK-based High Speed Transfers has taken place at Damen Shipyards Antalya. Named HST Harri, she joins the HST Hudson, delivered in May 2018, and the HST Sofia, which was handed over in March this year. A fourth FCS 2710 for High Speed Transfers, to be named HST Euan, is currently nearing completion for delivery in December.
