GBM Works is announcing the successful completion of the second close of its Seed funding round, summing up to €6.2 million. The round was backed by new investor Invest-NL in addition to existing investors such as the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund and Rotterdamse Havendraken.
GBM Works is a pioneering Dutch company developing Vibrojet®, a silent installation technique for offshore wind monopiles.
Innovation in the offshore wind market is leading to ever larger installations. Conventional piling techniques generate noise levels that are harmful to marine life and are not equipped to handle this growing scale. As a result, licenses to develop wind farms are increasingly granted only when quiet installation methods are employed.
Wouter van Westenbrugge, Senior Investment Manager at Invest-NL highlighted the significance of the technology: “Offshore wind is an essential pillar in the energy transition, and the technologies developed by GBM Works enable the sector to comply with increasingly stricter noise regulations. At a time when the offshore wind sector faces cost pressures, we see it as vital to support innovations that contribute to a solution. That is why we are proud to back GBM Works in developing this groundbreaking solution.”
Following GBM Works’ successful offshore tests at the SIMPLE III demonstrator project, this investment will be used to support the first commercial deployment by GBM Works with Ecowende at the Hollandse Kust West VI wind farm in early 2026. In parallel, GBM Works will advance the technique for other complex soil conditions worldwide, an essential step toward enabling global adoption and positioning GBM as a leader in silent offshore wind installation solutions.
