Transfer Safety Services for Petrobras in Brazil

Multinational petroleum corporation Petrobras turned to Roxtec for verification of the cable and pipe transits onboard the P-68 FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) vessel before final approval from the classification society.

Petrobras also asked the cable and pipe transit specialist to educate engineers and installers of Petrobras and the Jurong Shipyard on how Roxtec seals work.

Roxtec introduced the new Roxtec Transit Inspector™ device and performed transit inspections onboard the FPSO. The aim was to verify the installation quality and increase the knowledge about the sealing solutions. The Roxtec team consisted of sealing experts and inspectors from Sweden, Mexico and Brazil.

Mr Itaiuã, MCT integrity responsible at Petrobras for P-68 and P-71 FPSO carryovers and integration, said that Roxtec provides an "incredible aftermarket service". It was the experience from these services that made him decide to have Roxtec representatives present the full scope to the shipyard as well as to his colleagues at Petrobras.
