Athens Group, a global provider of offshore inspection services to the E&P and marine industries, has named Captain Jeet Kar its new Director of Marine Services.

In this role, he will oversee the company's expansion into the marine inspection business. Kar, a 35-year veteran in the Oil & Gas and Marine industries, was most recently Director of Marine Operations for Global Maritime, Inc. He has delivered and managed delivery of a wide range of marine services, including Subject Matter Expert (SME) opinion and warranty services to underwriters.

Athens Group's 21-plus year track record in performance and safety assurance services, spanning controls to electro-mechanical subsystems, puts the company at the forefront of understanding and quantifying the additional risks presented by the pervasive use of technology. These additional risks derive from the marine industry's reliance on complex integrated systems controls and automated systems, including increased cyber-security exposure.
