Exail, a leading provider of maritime autonomy solutions, has unveiled its new transoceanic Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV), the DriX O-16. Benefitting from an autonomy of 2,500 Nm and a unique naval architecture that enables the USV to withstand the most severe ocean conditions, the new DriX O-16 has been designed for long-duration operations (up to 30 days) and can deploy multiple payloads and subsea assets.

VARD is pleased to announce it has signed a contract with Navigare Capital Partners, in close corporation with Norwind Offshore, for the design and construction of one tailor-made Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV). The parties have also agreed on new options for two additional vessels.

The Norwegian ocean-technology company, Kongsberg Discovery, introduces a new analysis tool developed in partnership with underwater imaging specialist Cathx Ocean that radically reduces the time and effort required to detect and classify objects of interest in seabed surveys undertaken by Kongsberg's market leading HUGIN autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), reducing costs for survey owners and freeing up valuable resources to focus on more important tasks.

After winning a 3-year contract for more than 80 vessels to VSAT, Iridium and VoIP in 2021, Castor Marine’s connectivity contract has now been renewed by Jan De Nul Group and includes a roll-out of Starlink to most Jan De Nul Group vessels. The experts in marine construction, civil engineering and environmental projects have expressed their continued satisfaction about and need for solid vessel connectivity on a global scale.

TDI-Brooks' latest dynamic positioning (DP) vessel, the RV NAUTILUS, has reached the shores of the East Coast of the United States. The DP2 vessel RV NAUTILUS from TDI-Brooks, with a length of 75 meters and built in 2000, arrived at the US East Coast on March 3, 2024. After undergoing a 6-month retrofit in Las Palmas, the vessel will provide support for offshore wind projects and various other subsea needs. It is equipped with advanced technology, including a Geomil Manta-200 CPT that can be deployed through the mid-ship moonpool of NAUTILUS. This system can penetrate the soil up to 40-50 meters, depending on its composition, to determine the soil's exact makeup. This data is crucial for identifying the best location and design for offshore developments like wind farms. The offshore renewable energy sector is expanding rapidly, resulting in a high demand for TDI's services on both the US East and West Coasts.

Saab and Damen Shipyards have agreed to export the advanced Expeditionary C-71 submarines. CEO of Damen Shipyards Arnout Damen and CEO of Saab Micael Johansson made the decision this week to export together the submarine, which has been developed for the Royal Netherlands Navy to replace the current Walrus class.
