Oil & Gas News

The Liza Destiny FPSO is currently sailing to Guyana, having recently departed from Keppel shipyard in Singapore. This key milestone follows a record turnaround time of just over 20 months for its construction phase by SBM Offshore – including module construction at nearby Dyna-Mac yard.

Schlumberger has been awarded a 20-year subsea equipment and services master contract for subsea development projects in the Gulf of Mexico by Chevron U.S.A. Combining this master contract with a preapproved catalog of standard subsea equipment will enable Chevron to decrease operating costs in its subsea projects.

The project, for which the data is expected to be acquired over a two-month period during the third quarter of 2019, will cover 151 square kilometers in water depths up to 600 meters. The ocean bottom nodes will be deployed by remotely operated vehicles.

Production from the Trestakk subsea field on Haltenbanken in the Norwegian Sea started on 16 July. Tied back to the Åsgard A floating production vessel, the field has estimated recoverable resources of 76 million barrels of oil. Field production started on time, below budget and without any serious incidents.
