BMT has been awarded a project to assist the University of Western Australia’s Wave Energy Research Centre in the design and deployment of a prototype-scale Wave Energy Converter in King George Sound, Albany, Western Australia.

DNV, the independent energy expert and assurance provider, has updated the DNV-ST-0119 standard for floating wind turbine structures. The updated standard includes numerous technical improvements that allow the industry to further optimize floating wind turbine structures while maintaining a sufficient level of safety. 

The Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry, Iselin Nybø, announced that the Ocean Grid project will get financial support of 82.7 million NOK, through the Green Platform scheme.

Vineyard Wind, a joint venture between Avangrid Renewables, a subsidiary of AVANGRID, Inc. (NYSE: AGR), and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), today announced that Jan De Nul Group, together with its subcontractor JDR Cable Systems part of the TFKable Group, had been selected to supply and install the roughly 130 miles of inter-array cables for the Vineyard Wind 1 project. The 66kV inter-array cables connecting 62 GE Haliade-X turbines will transfer electricity to an offshore substation for transmission to the grid.
