CGG announces commencement of its first multi-client ocean bottom node (OBN) survey, taking CGG’s offshore data library to the next level of excellence. Located in the north-central region of the Gulf of Mexico, this dense OBN survey will provide well-sampled, full azimuthal coverage with long offsets, to deliver exceptional data for imaging the geologically complex structures in Mississippi Canyon.

Danos has selected Greg Guidry to join the company’s board of directors. Guidry retired from his position of Executive Vice President – Unconventionals for Royal Dutch Shell in October 2018 after six years in the role and nearly 37 years with the company.

Petrobras reported a net profit of R$ 4 billion in the first quarter of 2019, an increase of 92% over the fourth quarter of 2018, mainly due to the lower occurrence of special items, with a total of R$ 600 million (negative). Adjusted EBITDA of R$ 27.5 billion was 6% lower than the fourth quarter of 2018, mainly driven by lower Brent prices, while free cash flow was positive for the 16th quarter in a row, with a total of R$ 12.1 billion.

Mozambique Rovuma Venture says that the government of Mozambique has approved its development plan for the Rovuma LNG project, which will produce, liquefy and market natural gas from three reservoirs located in the Area 4 block offshore Mozambique, two of which straddle the boundary with neighboring Area 1.

Eni has made a new light oil discovery in Block 15/06, in Angola’s deep offshore. The well was drilled on the Ndungu exploration prospect. The new discovery is estimated to contain up to 250 million barrels of light oil in place, with further upside.

Boston-based Sea Machines Robotics announces a new partnership with Hike Metal, a world-class manufacturer of workboats based in Ontario, Canada, to integrate Sea Machines’ SM300 autonomous vessel control system aboard commercial vessels tasked with search-and-rescue (SAR) missions. The collaboration will help develop and demonstrate the capabilities of autonomous marine technology for the purposes of increasing the productivity and safety of SAR operations.
