DNV GL and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) are supporting academic advances in additive manufacturing – the process of 3D printing – for the maritime, oil and gas and other industries, through a four-year research collaboration agreement.

Last week the completion of the assembly of the screening installation of the CEMEX Go Innovation was celebrated at the Damen Dredging yard. The screening installation is designed for the aggregate dredger type MAD3500 currently under construction. This hopper dredger features several innovative elements, including the fully re-designed screening installation.

On 15 May 2019, Damen Shipyards Group and De Beers Marine Namibia (Pty) Ltd participated in a special steel cutting ceremony to mark the beginning of construction on a new offshore vessel. In February 2019, De Beers Marine Namibia awarded a contract to Damen to build a new crawler diamond recovery vessel for offshore operations in Namibia.

Prysmian Group, a world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry, has been awarded a contract worth approximately €200 million by Vineyard Wind, LLC, a US offshore wind development company 50% owned by funds of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and 50% by Avangrid Renewables (part of the Iberdrola Group), to provide a submarine power cable system which will deliver clean energy to the mainland power grid in the US.

Fairbanks Morse, an EnPro Industries company (NYSE: NPO) and leading provider of solutions that are powering the world forward, announced today that the company has received a visit from Secretary of the Navy, Honorable Richard V. Spencer. The Secretary addressed Fairbanks Morse employees at its Beloit, Wisconsin facility and acknowledged the company’s decades-long dedication to supporting the United States Navy with their critical power solutions.
