On April 12, Damen Shipyards Group launched the second of its fully electric RSD-E Tugs 2513 at Damen Song Cam Shipyard. The tug is being built for the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, together with five conventional RSD Tugs 2513. When delivered later this year, it will be the first fully electric tug to operate in European waters.

H2SITE’s AMMONIA to H2POWER technology for ammonia cracking on-board has received Approval in Principle (AiP) from Lloyd’s Register (LR). The technology is an onboard containerized solution that produces fuel-cell-quality hydrogen using ammonia. This hydrogen can then be utilized by hydrogen fuel cells that can contribute to the vessel’s electrical power, or the hydrogen could be consumed directly in an internal combustion engine (ICE).

A new report released shows Louisiana businesses and workers stand to benefit from expansion of offshore wind nationally and in the Gulf of Mexico. The “Louisiana Offshore Wind Supply Chain Assessment,” released by the Southeastern Wind Coalition, GNO Inc., Center for Planning Excellence, and The Pew Charitable Trusts, with research partner and global energy consultancy Xodus Group, identifies recommendations to tap into more Louisiana know-how to help build offshore wind in US waters.

Vallourec has secured a fourth major order in the framework of the Long-Term Agreement (LTA) signed in 2021 with ExxonMobil Guyana. Under the contract, Vallourec will deliver line pipe for ExxonMobil Guyana’s deep-water Whiptail project. The Whiptail project is located in the Stabroek Block, a 26,800 km2 strategic basin located off Guyana’s continental shelf, where several important discoveries have been made since 2015.
