A consortium of DEME, Tractebel, Jan De Nul Group, Soltech and Ghent University is launching an innovative project in the field of marine floating solar technology. The partners strongly believe that solar photovoltaic (PV) panels in offshore waters are one of the essential future green energy sources. Combined in the same location with aquaculture and offshore wind power, this innovative technology allows for a more efficient use of available space.

Prysmian Group, a world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry, has been awarded a project by Vattenfall, a leading European energy company, to provide the submarine inter–array cable systems for the Hollandse Kust Zuid III and IV offshore wind farms in The Netherlands. The award follows Vattenfall’s successful bid for the permit to develop these non-subsidised wind farms. The notice to proceed is expected by early 2020 at the latest.
