International energy consultancy Xodus Group is to conduct a study which will investigate the integration of offshore renewables into localized energy systems around Scotland.
A consortium of DEME, Tractebel, Jan De Nul Group, Soltech and Ghent University is launching an innovative project in the field of marine floating solar technology. The partners strongly believe that solar photovoltaic (PV) panels in offshore waters are one of the essential future green energy sources. Prysmian Group, a world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry, has been awarded a project by Vattenfall, a leading European energy company, to provide the submarine inter–array cable systems for the Hollandse Kust Zuid III and IV offshore wind farms in The Netherlands. The award follows Vattenfall’s successful bid for the permit to develop these non-subsidised wind farms. The notice to proceed is expected by early 2020 at the latest.
Subsea 7 S.A has been awarded a sizeable(1) contract to Seaway 7 for the Hornsea Two offshore wind farm project by Optimus Wind Ltd., a subsidiary of the Ørsted Group, for the installation of the entire inner array grid cable system.
