Safetec UK Limited, a leading provider of risk management, technical safety and environmental consultancy and sustainability services, is planning to recruit after the company recorded sales of £3million in the first half of 2022.

Safetec 1Safetec UK, based at 1 Marischal Square in Aberdeen, has grown in all aspects of its energy consultancy this year.

This company has doubled its workforce in the last year, including a new Risk Management and Reliability Lead, Phil Smith, plus growth in the decommissioning and environmental teams. There have also been appointments in administration and graduate positions.

Babak Alnasser, Managing Director of Safetec UK said: “We’ve surprised ourselves in how much we have achieved in the last three years. Despite a pandemic and energy uncertainty, we’ve been able to grow our team and establish close relationships with major operators, developers and EPC companies, both in the UK and overseas.

“We’ve seen a huge increase in North Sea decommissioning work but also growth in renewables, particularly offshore wind, as well as new energies and net zero areas such as hydrogen and CCUS. Safety and efficiency are two vital components for any company and our flexible and nimble approach, on top of our knowledge, is appealing to organisations across the energy industry.

“We are looking to add another four engineers to the team by the end of the year, to support further strengthening of our safety, risk management and environmental service lines and ongoing projects.”

Ecochlor is launching a containerized version of the EcoOne® filterless ballast water management system (BWMS). The EcoOne® Container Unit is well suited for Semi-Submersible Rigs, Jack-Up Rigs, Drillships, FPSOs, FSRUs and other vessels with infrequent ballasting operations at medium to high flow rates.

“The EcoOne® Container Unit offers incredible benefits to Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODU),” said Andrew Marshall, Ecochlor CEO. “One system can simultaneously serve up to four separate sea chests or quadrants, in the case of the semi-submersible rigs. It also allows for gravity ballasting on uptake and discharge, and has very low power requirements. Plus, a single unit can be easily shared between multiple rigs and/or vessels. This is a great break-through for the offshore market as they have faced difficulty complying with the BWM Convention due to a lack of systems that work reliably and cost-effectively for their unique needs.”

The EcoOne® Container Unit has a small footprint and does not require filters. Installation requirements below deck and in the pontoons are minimal with only one-way, 1”/DN25 piping. Additionally, the container can be removed while the MODU is stationary, saving valuable deck space.
