(JACKSONVILLE, Fla.; Aug. 5, 2019) ¬– Crowley Maritime Corp. today announced new leaders in its Solutions group to support the continuing focus and growth in its government service offerings. This enhanced alignment will leverage commercial best practices in the transportation, energy and technology sectors to drive innovation and value for customers in the public sector.

Sea Machines Robotics, an advanced technology company serving the marine industry, has hired industry veteran Frank Relou to lead its European sales efforts. In his new role as European business development manager, Relou will lead the transformation of Europe’s hard-working commercial fleets with technology that empowers operators with enhanced on-water productivity and job predictability.

Leading Classification Society ClassNK is participating in the “Cross-industrial Working Group Related to Zero Emission Alternative Ship Fuels” established by the CCR Study Group. This working group which ClassNK acts as secretariat to aims to reduce CO2 emissions in the international value chain by use of methane synthesized through methanation technology which combines CO2 and hydrogen produced from renewable energy sources.

The first of Damen’s new Marine Aggregate Dredger class, a 103.5 metre MAD 3500, has been launched at Damen Shipyards Galati (DSGa) in Romania. The vessel, to be named the CEMEX Go Innovation, is the result of close cooperation between CEMEX UK Marine and Damen and represents the first of a new generation of efficient and economical dredgers specializing in the extraction of sand and gravel from the seabed.

The Board of Directors of StormGeo has appointed Søren Andersen as the new CEO of StormGeo. Andersen will take up his new position on September 2, 2019. Interim CEO, Henrik Dahl, will reassume his role as Non-executive Director on the Board of Directors of StormGeo.

On July 29th, New Zealand’s Ports of Auckland signed a contract with the Damen Shipyards Group for the delivery of an innovative new vessel. The RSD-E Tug 2513 will be the first fully-electric ship-handling tug in the world with 70 tonnes bollard pull. The vessel completes the green cycle of energy in the port with its unrivalled performance in sustainability.
