The 2020 edition of Dredging in Figures, an annual review of the global open dredging market by the International Association of Dredging Companies (IADC) is now available. Prysmian Group, world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry, announces the obtainment of the Notice to Proceed for the approximately €200 million contract to supply a submarine power cable system for the Vineyard Wind 1 offshore wind farm. A milestone in the development of the offshore wind farm sector in the US, Vineyard will consist of an array of 62 wind turbines and will generate 800 megawatts of electricity annually and power over 400,000 homes.

VARD, one of the major global designers and shipbuilders of specialized vessels, has been awarded contracts for the design and construction of two Commissioning Service Operations Vessels (CSOVs) with options for two additional vessels, and the sales and conversion of one Platform Supply Vessel to be converted to a Service Operation Vessel (SOV) for Norwind Offshore in Ålesund, Norway. The contracts for the firm three vessels have an indicative total value of NOK 1.4 billion. 

Specialist oil and gas consultancy Oil Plus Ltd has secured a number of significant international contract awards totaling more than £1.5million in the first half of this year, signaling that it is on track to increase its revenues by 50% and meet its conservative £4.75million growth target by 2023. 

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has secured RoRo equipment orders for 8 vessels to be built in Asia. The orders are booked into Cargotec's second (EUR 9 million) and third quarter (EUR 22 million) 2021 order intake with deliveries planned to commence during the second quarter of 2022 and completed during the third quarter of 2023.



Eni and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) have entered a three-year partnership agreement to collaborate in the promotion of renewable energy and accelerate the energy transition, particularly in countries that export fossil fuels. The agreement has been signed by Eni’s Chief Executive Officer, Claudio Descalzi, and IRENA’s General Director, Francesco La Camera, at a time when Milan is hosting the "Pre-COP 26" preparatory ministerial meeting.
