ICR Integrity (ICR), a leading provider of integrated maintenance, repair and production solutions for the offshore oil and gas, power, defence, nuclear, utilities and renewables industries, has recently completed a crucial scope of work for Doosan Babcock on the Forties Pipeline System (FPS) shutdown project at the Cruden Bay Booster Station, in North-east Scotland.

Chevron has signed an agreement with the government of Equatorial Guinea for Block EG09 – located in the Douala Basin on the border of Cameroon. Representing a notable achievement for both Chevron as it moves to increase its penetration in the Equatorial Guinean market, and the country itself in its journey towards resource maximization, the agreement grants Chevron 80% ownership with GEPetrol holding the remaining 20%.

Robot renting — also known as the robot as a service (RaaS) — is expected to revolutionize the way oil & gas (O&G) companies approach robotics, according to GlobalData. The leading data and analytics company notes that industry leaders such as BP, Equinor, ExxonMobil, and Shell are increasingly testing autonomous robots in their facilities, with these systems often supported by other technology such as AI. However, the costs can be off putting. Technology companies such as Fugro that offer RaaS allow O&G players to avoid the cost of inventory and obtain robotic services when required.

Equinor has entered into an agreement to acquire all of Spirit Energy’s production licenses in the Statfjord area which spreads across the Norwegian and UK Continental Shelves and are developed by three integrated production platforms (Statfjord A, B, C). All licenses are operated by Equinor.

DNV, the independent energy expert and assurance provider, is working with Wintershall Noordzee (Wintershall) and the OTH Regensburg University of Applied Sciences to explore how existing natural gas pipelines in the southern North Sea can be used for future carbon dioxide (CO2) transport.
