Sinikka Hartonen has been appointed Secretary General of One Sea, as the high-profile autonomous maritime ecosystem enters a new phase in its drive to support the adoption and standardization of autonomous ship technology.

Autonomous Surface Vehicles (ASVs) represent one of the fastest growing markets in the ocean tech space. Applications vary, but the deployment for multidisciplinary marine survey, offshore surveillance missions, and search and recovery operations are among the most notable of late.

Subsea7 has entered into four long-term vessel charter agreements with Otto Candies LLC and Bordelon Marine LLC, to strengthen offshore construction, inspection, maintenance and repair (IRM), ROV survey, and pipe/umbilical laying support operations, in the Gulf of Mexico.

Subsea7's order for an Energy Storage System from Bakker Sliedrecht is a double first. It is the first order for such a system on this scale for the Sliedrecht based independent system integrator. Also, Subsea7’s Seven Arctic is believed to be the first heavy construction / flex-lay vessel in the world to be equipped with such an energy saving system.

"Biofouling is a global problem, and to solve a global problem we need to collaborate globally. This collaboration aims to accelerate the uptake of proactive hull cleaning, as well as to understand the limits and risks with such solutions", say CEO of Bellona, Hallstein Havåg and VP Growth and Strategy at Armach Robotics, Rob Howard.

Armach Robotics, Inc. (Armach) will be exhibiting at the forthcoming International Workboat Show, 30 November–2 December at the Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, LA. This will be the first time exhibiting their robotics as a service model for proactive in-water hull cleaning of a ship at the International Workboat.
