LQT Industries, LLC, a full-service provider of high quality accommodation facilities, design-build construction services, and support services to the oil and gas industry, has completed the sale of the company's subarctic aluminum accommodations facility to a global energy company.
The subarctic facility was being leased to the client by LQT to house 96 personnel on a platform located off the coast of Sakhalin Island, Russia. After three (3) months of utilization on the platform, the client finalized the agreement with LQT to acquire the facility.
The construction of the facility was completed in June 2014 at LQT's fabrication facility in Abbeville, LA and reassembled in Russia in September of 2014. The facility consists of ten (10) modular units made up of living quarters, recreation rooms, and utility rooms. The exterior stairs and walkways included with the facility are completely enclosed with aluminum enclosures to protect the occupants from the harsh weather environments the subarctic region produces.
The weight of the facility was significantly reduced due to LQT's aluminum design and construction. The facility was designed and built to comply with Russian regulatory groups, including certifications from GOST (Russian State Union Standard) and IPEIG.
