Bollinger Shipyards, LLC (“Bollinger”) announces that it will construct a state-of-the-art, floating dry dock for General Dynamics Electric Boat to support the construction and maintenance of the United States’ new Columbia Class of Ballistic Missile Submarines.

Harvey Gulf International Marine announced that it has begun converting four 220’ DPS-2  Platform Supply Vessels, which will be capable of stowing one set of four Jumbo fenders (4.5m dia X 9.0m length) and one set of four smaller Jumbo fenders (4.5m dia X 6.3m length) on the vessels’ back decks, along with other STS related equipment, e.g., three (12 inch dia. X 90 feet length) cargo transfer hoses, four smaller fenders, personnel transfer basket, wires, shackles, and other hardware used by Mooring Masters. 

Crowley successfully lightered and delivered nearly four million gallons of military specification fuel to Eareckson Air Station on the Aleutian Island of Shemya in Alaska, overcoming challenges that included Mother Nature’s destruction of the island’s shoreside dock, remote location and challenging weather and sea conditions.

A new multi-purpose oil spill response and towage vessel being built for the Kuwait Oil Co will be installed with a Cathelco marine growth prevention system (MGPS) to prevent bio-fouling and corrosion in seawater pipework. The system is manufactured by Cathelco which has been part of the Evac Group since 2018.

As part of wider expansion plans, maritime cyber security systems pioneer Naval Dome has established a significant presence in the Americas with the opening of a new product development and customer service center in Boston, Massachusetts.

On September 11th, Damen Shipyards Group launched a Marine Aggregate Dredger (MAD) 3500 at its Galati yard in Romania. Damen is building the MAD for UK-based Hanson. The company will use the vessel to conduct offshore aggregate extraction in water depths up to -55 meters in the North Sea and English Channel.

Ampelmann, the Dutch offshore access provider, has signed a contract with Seaway 7 for a project due to start in 2021. This contract marks the company’s first contract in Taiwan, and it is also the first time an Ampelmann system will be deployed for an offshore wind job in Asia.

Harvey Gulf announces in addition to its new two million gallon diesel bunkering facility in Port Fourchon, LA, it will now offer a full service fuel carrying vessel solely dedicated to offshore fuel and water deliveries, through the conversion of Harvey’s 300’ PSV Harvey Hawk.
