SubCableWorld (SCW), the preferred information resource of the submarine telecom industry, and the Business Network for Offshore Wind (The Network), a non-profit organization dedicated to establishing an offshore wind supply chain in the United States, have announced that they will hold the first conference focusing specifically on offshore wind cable supply chain issues in the United States.

Equinor and its partners are preparing for production start from the world class Johan Sverdrup field already in October this year, one month ahead of schedule. Equinor also presents updated operating costs and strong cash flow estimates for the initial year of production.

Trelleborg’s marine and infrastructure operation has announced that it is to collaborate with Danish water environment specialist, DHI, enabling marine consultants and port owners to more realistically simulate vessel movements in ports and increase port efficiency.

International engineering consultancy PD&MS Group has secured long term contracts in excess of £400million in the past 12 months. The new and renewed awards have resulted in over 100 additional personnel being employed to support projects in the North Sea and Azerbaijan. The business forecasts at least another 150 personnel will be required in 2020.

The technology group Wärtsilä will supply a unique and patent-pending LNG fuel storage and supply system for two new trailing suction hopper dredgers (TSHDs). The ships are being built by Keppel Offshore & Marine for Van Oord, the Dutch marine contractor. The order with Wärtsilä was placed in Q2 2019.
