On Tuesday, August 6th, 2022, Ørsted inaugurated the Ørsted Taiwan Offshore Wind Farms Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Hub. Located at the Port of Taichung, the O&M hub is the first operations facility with green design and the largest in terms of size and offshore service capacity in the Asia-Pacific region.

The UK’s Contracts for Difference (CfD) scheme has played a key role in developing the country’s offshore wind industry – 65% of operational and EPCI capacity is now supported by a CfD.


Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has been awarded the firm order for the 112-MW Ishikari offshore wind power project from Green Power Investment. This instrumental project is the first firm offshore order in Japan for the world’s leading manufacturer of offshore wind turbines.

With the Saint-Brieuc offshore substation (OSS) jacket foundation recently installed off the coast of France, independent engineering consultancy, SLPE, who designed the substructure, have reflected on some of the project’s challenges, including its complex ground conditions and how these were overcome.
