Dutch offshore service provider Ampelmann announce that it has enabled the safe transfer of 5 million people and 10 million kilograms of cargo worldwide. This double milestone is proof of the company’s continuous commitment to setting the industry standard in offshore safety and efficiency.

On March 29th, Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania launched Bibby Marine Services’ second Service Operations Vessel (SOV) 9020. During the same event, the vessel was officially named Bibby WaveMaster Horizon. Upon delivery later this year, the SOV will begin maintenance work on two EnBW and Enbridge-owned windfarms in the German North Sea – Hohe See and Albatros – for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and EnBW.

Damen Shipyards Den Helder (DSDH) and the Netherlands’ Defense Material Organization (DMO) procurement agency have signed a contract for the design, build and delivery of a prototype Expeditionary Survey Boat (ESB). The craft will be optimised for rapid environmental assessments and hydrographic surveys in harbours, river mouths, shallow waters, coastal areas and shipping channels.

Leading classification society ClassNK has released the ClassNK Cyber Security Approach which outlines its basic approach to ensuring onboard cyber security for ships. It was released alongside its Guidelines for Designing Cyber Security Onboard Ships for newbuilding designs as the first part of the ClassNK Cyber Security Series which incorporates requirements for taking onboard cyber security measures.

EMAR Offshore Services, a Netherlands-based dedicated maritime service company, welcomed a new vessel to its fleet. The Damen ASD Tug 2811 named E-TWO, was ordered in November 2018 with a special request for the installation of an additional FiFi1 system, aft winch and hydraulic crane.
