Ørsted and Dillinger (Aktien-Gesellschaft der Dillinger Hüttenwerke) strengthen their partnership as the energy company secures the first offer to procure Dillinger’s lower-emission heavy-plate steel for offshore wind foundations. Through the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Ørsted supports Dillinger’s efforts to drive the decarbonization of steel production and leverage its influence to secure resilient supply chains, steel capacity, and the optionality to deliver on expected future costumer demands.

The Nautical SUNRISE project is set to support the world’s largest Offshore Floating Solar power installation. The €8.4 million project, supported with € 6.8 million of the Horizon Europe program, kicked off in December 2023 to execute research and development on offshore floating solar (OFS) systems and its components. The outcomes of the project will enable the large-scale deployment and commercialization of OFS systems in the future, both as standalone systems and integrated into offshore wind farms.

Odfjell Oceanwind, together with its partners Source Galileo Norge and Kansai Electric Power Company, has received two billion NOK (approximately 190 million USD) in a capex grant for the GoliatVIND project. GoliatVIND is a 75 MW demonstration project for floating offshore wind. The project has selected Odfjell Oceanwind’s Deepsea Star™ semisubmersible foundation technology and will use Odfjell Oceanwind’s supply chain.

This significant contract is a testament to Venterra's unmatched global expertise across the entire lifecycle of offshore wind farm development and experience guiding governments and policymakers to identify optimal locations for offshore wind farms.

Fugro has extended their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PTSC Geos & Subsea Services Co., Ltd (PTSC G&S) to meet Vietnam’s strong demand for geophysical, geotechnical and metocean data services. Under the 2-year agreement, Fugro’s full range of marine site characterization services and PTSC G&S’s local survey capabilities will support Vietnam’s growing offshore wind industry.

COWI, a leading international engineering consulting group, has been awarded a contract by Thistle Wind Partners (TWP), a joint venture involving DEME, Qair and Aspiravi, with a focus on Scottish offshore wind development. Under the contract, COWI will conduct a Pre-FEED study for TWP’s Ayre and Bowdun offshore wind farms, which would enter construction in 2029 and produce more than 2 GW of energy by 2032-2033. Utilizing its local and global engineering expertise, COWI will provide essential analysis for the foundation design of each project.

Carnegie Clean Energy Ltd (Carnegie) is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Carnegie Technologies Spain, has been awarded €2.1 m for the ACHIEVE+ project by the Ente Vasco de la Energia (EVE), the Basque Energy Agency. This award complements the contract awarded by the EuropeWave Project (€3.75 m) and RENMARINAS DEMOS funding (€1.2 m) creating a total funding pool of €7.05 m for the deployment of CETO at the Biscay Marine Energy Platform (BiMEP) in the Basque Country. 

Global energy consultancy Xodus has assisted Stonepeak, a leading alternative investment firm specializing in infrastructure and real assets, in its acquisition of a 50% interest in Dominion Energy’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Project (“CVOW”). CVOW is expected to be the largest offshore wind farm in the US.

New York State has selected Ørsted and Eversource to negotiate a new 25-year contract for their Sunrise Wind offshore wind farm. This conditional award brings the 924-megawatt project one critical step closer to fulfilling its promise to deliver substantial economic benefits across New York and help the state meet its climate goals.
