The Correll Group, Electrical Engineering Division is pleased to announce that it has been contracted by Seaway 7 to complete the termination and testing of 29 66kV inter-array cables (IAC) and four landfall export cables on Zhong Neng Offshore Wind Farm.

Salamander, a joint venture between Ørsted, Simply Blue Group and Subsea 7, has appointed Fugro to conduct a comprehensive metocean survey for the proposed Salamander offshore wind farm project. Located 35 km off the coast of Peterhead, Scotland, the 100 MW project will use innovative floating offshore wind technologies to help Scotland and the UK progress towards a net-zero future.

Wintershall Dea is intensifying its carbon capture and storage (CCS) activities in the Southern North Sea. The company has been awarded a new license by the North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) to store CO2 under the seabed. The Camelot license’s annual storage potential is up to 6 million tonnes and provides a significant and valuable contribution to the CO2 abatement potential in the UK.

Offshore wind projects taking place in macrotidal environments, such as around the UK, must deal with water level changes of more than four meters every six hours. This extreme tidal range is difficult to compensate for using ballasting, so projects that require load-in or load-out of large jackets are delayed when waters are too high or low, leaving the installation vessel waiting.
