Aberdeenshire headquartered integrated services provider, AquaTerra Group, has announced four significant decommissioning contract wins totaling a seven-figure sum. These latest projects represent a notable increase in AquaTerra’s roster of decommissioning projects between 2023 and 2025.

James Fisher Decommissioning, part of James Fisher and Sons plc, extended its contract with a major offshore engineering, preparations, removal, and disposal (EPRD) operator, making the project the largest to date for the offshore decommissioning specialist. The multi-million-pound offshore decommissioning project utilized real time cutting verification technology to remove 25 dormant gas platforms in support of the client’s wider asset end-of-life campaign.

Odfjell Technology, a leading provider of drilling and well services, has secured an important contract with COSL Drilling Europe AS. The fixed part of the contract, valued at approximately 160 million NOK, encompasses Tubular Running Services has a duration of three years, with the option for two additional one-year periods.

PETRONAS E&P Bobara Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of PETRONAS, has signed a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) for the Bobara Working Area located at the offshore of West Papua, Eastern Indonesia. PETRONAS has been awarded the Bobara Working Area with a total acreage of 8,444.49 square kilometers during the third round of Indonesia Petroleum Bid Round 2023.

CGG, in association with Côte d’Ivoire's Direction Générale des Hydrocarbures (DGH) and PETROCI Holding (PETROCI), has announced two new multi-client 3D reimaging programs, CDI24 Phase I (3,120 km2) and Phase II (6,610 km2). Both projects are supported by the industry, with Phase I commencing immediately and Phase II planned for H1 2025.

Mermaid Maritime Public Company Limited (“Mermaid”) announces that its joint- venture company formed between Mermaid and a local offshore services operator has secured a one-year contract extension for offshore inspection, repair and maintenance services with a national upstream oil and gas company in direct continuation to its current contract, which commenced in 2012. Mermaid will continue to provide a suite of diving services using its DP2 saturation dive support vessel “Mermaid Asiana” along with remotely operated vehicles, specialized diving equipment and divers. Mermaid’s joint venture partner, a reputable offshore and marine services company, will provide other offshore vessel related services and logistics.

Digital twins are digital representations of physical assets, systems, people, or processes. They help detect, prevent, predict, and optimize the physical environment using artificial intelligence (AI), real-time analytics, visualization, and simulation tools. In case of oil and gas, digital twins can support the entire project lifecycle from the project design to commissioning. It can also help in overseeing the asset performance during operations and aid in personnel training, says GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.
