Gastech to Return to Singapore in 2023

Gastech, the world’s largest global exhibition and conference for the natural gas, LNG, hydrogen, low carbon solutions and climate technologies will take place in Singapore in 2023, event organisers dmg events today announced.

Returning to Singapore from 11-14 September 2023, Gastech 2023 will take place at a critical time for the global energy industry.

Singapore has one of the world’s busiest trade routes and is home to a growing LNG trading community. The choice to host Gastech 2023 in Singapore reflects the city state’s position as one of the world’s leading LNG trading hubs as well as the growing importance of natural gas and LNG to the buoyant economies of Asia and Australasia, both as a feedstock for petrochemicals production and as a bridging energy source to a low carbon energy eco-system.

Geopolitical events have heightened concerns around energy security and refocused attention on the role of gas in meeting energy demand, presenting the natural gas, LNG and hydrogen industry with the opportunity to shape the future direction of the global energy landscape.

Alan Heng, Group CEO, Pavilion Energy, said: “At Pavilion Energy we are excited for Gastech to be coming to Singapore in 2023. The timing could not be more relevant as we look towards reshaping the LNG markets in which we operate. We are pleased to be a part of this world leading conference and exhibition which never fails to bring together the key players operating across the energy value chain.”

“We’re delighted to be taking Gastech back to Asia, and to one of the most important energy and financial hubs in the world. Singapore sits at the crossroads of trade and investment in the region, which presents enormous opportunities for global players in the gas, LNG, hydrogen, low carbon solutions and climate technology sectors to engage some of the fastest-growing economies in the world,” said Christopher Hudson, President, dmg events.

Mr. Lee Pak Sing, Assistant Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Singapore, said: “Natural gas, hydrogen and low carbon solutions will play a pivotal role in global energy transition. As the LNG hub for Asia, Singapore is best placed for energy companies to collaborate and invest in new technologies, infrastructure, and partnerships to drive a low carbon energy future. Such activities will contribute to our Trade 2030 strategy to double our offshore trade to US$2 trillion by 2030. Enterprise Singapore is excited to host Gastech 2023 in Singapore. I am confident that the event will create many opportunities for new partnerships to be formed.”

Mr Yap Chin Siang, Deputy Chief Executive of the Singapore Tourism Board, said: “Singapore is pleased to be hosting Gastech again. As our industry recovers strongly from the pandemic, the return of this significant platform affirms our reputation as a Global Asian Node, where global businesses can converge in Asia to discuss the global energy needs. We look forward to welcoming Gastech delegates to Singapore and are working closely with dmg events towards a successful show.”

Gastech 2023 will be hosted at the Singapore EXPO Convention and Exhibition Centre from 11-14 September 2023, with support from Enterprise Singapore and the Singapore Tourism Board. The conference will provide delegates with real world insights that will enable them to better understand the dynamics of Asia’s evolving energy needs, including power generation and distribution, the financing of net zero projects, and how regulation and policy will impact growth opportunities for gas, LNG, low carbon gases including hydrogen and climate technologies.

Gastech, which takes place in a different location each year, is the world’s largest integrated conference and exhibition for the natural gas, LNG, low carbon gases and climate technologies, and draws more than 40,000 international visitors from across the energy value chain. Attendees include heads of state and government, energy ministers, CEOs and global business leaders, through to management and operational-level executives, engineers, scientists, and emerging talent.

The exhibition will feature over 750 exhibitors demonstrating innovations and services across the energy value chain. There will be dedicated industry zones and 20 country pavilions showcasing international companies.
