Chevron Shipping Company has joined the Sea Cargo Charter, a benchmark initiative for responsible shipping activities, transparent greenhouse gas reporting, and improved decision making in line with United Nations decarbonization targets.

From 2022, the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) requires all English registered fishing vessels under 12 meters to be fitted with an approved I-VMS (Inshore Vessel Monitoring System). Unlike previous VMS schemes, the fisher has freedom to choose which supplier they prefer from the devices Type Approved by the MMO.

The Fugro-led consortium MENENS (Methanol as Energy Step Towards Emission-free Dutch Shipping) has been awarded a grant from Dutch Government’s Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (Netherlands Enterprise Agency) for the development of methanol as a low-carbon shipping fuel. The 22 partners in the consortium represent the complete Dutch maritime sector, from equipment suppliers, designers, shipbuilders and ship owners to Geo-data and survey specialist Fugro.

VARD, one of the world’s major designers and shipbuilders of specialized vessels, has secured a new contract for the design and construction of one Service Operation Vessels (SOV) for North Star Group in the UK. The vessel of VARD 4 12 design will be the fourth SOV to be delivered from VARD to North Star for operation on the Dogger Bank Wind Farm in the North Sea.
