Steerprop, a leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance propulsion systems has been awarded a major order to supply the complete propulsion package for a state-of-the-art Wind Installation Vessel (WIV). The order builds upon Steerprop’s extensive support and successful track record in delivering fit-for-purpose solutions to the offshore renewables sector.


Damen Shipyards Group’s order book rose to a company record of 8.8 billion euros as at year-end 2021. Part of that rise was due to the acquisition of an order for no fewer than 99 vessels at the Workboats division and a record number of orders for Damen Yachting. After three loss-making years, the Netherlands’ largest shipbuilder was back in the black in 2021.

Global service provider Goltens Worldwide has been appointed by UK-based maritime technology specialist Emsys Maritime Ltd as an authorized sales, installation, commissioning, and after-sales service partner for its Emsys-iS Marine Emissions Monitor and Emsys-PM Smoke Density Monitor products. The agreement applies globally except for South Korea.

EMAR Offshore Services BV, the independent maritime services company based in Raamsdonksveer, the Netherlands, has bought two Damen Fast Crew Suppliers (FCS) 2206. With both vessels already in stock, one named E-Six, has already begun operations in Angola supporting the local oil and gas industry, and will be joined by E-Seven shortly.
