ClassNK has signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Maersk Training A/S regarding training for offshore wind farm operators and education for alternative fuel ship crews.

Ports of Stockholm is investing in hydrogen and is beginning a hydrogen fuelling station procurement for Stockholm Norvik Port. Hydrogen fuel is part of achieving the environmental target of fossil fuel-free truck operations by 2025.

The technology group Wärtsilä and logistics provider CLdN have jointly developed an innovative hybrid design for two new RoRo vessels. The propulsion arrangement is such that the ships can operate as gas/diesel-mechanical vessel now, or in the future as gas/diesel-electric vessel. The vessels are being built at Hyundai Mipo Dockyards in Korea.

In the context of the announcement for six options dated March 2018, Fincantieri and Viking have put into effect the contracts for the third and fourth ships. The companies also have signed the contract for the fifth and sixth units, subject to access to financing as per industry practice. The total value of the agreements is about euro 1.7 billion. Deliveries are scheduled respectively in 2026, 2027 and two in 2028.
