Van Oord has finished dredging two new port basins in Ain Sokhna Port, successfully completing a project that forms part of a port expansion program meant to improve and develop the Suez Canal Economic Zone and harness the enormous potential of the Suez Canal as a global hub for maritime transport. 

As the first large vessel in the industry, the container ship Maersk Halifax has been converted into a dual-fuel vessel able to operate on methanol. The retrofit operation was conducted at the Zhoushan Xinya Shipyard in China over 88 days with completion at the end of October 2024. 

Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) and the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati have successfully completed India’s first training and certification program in deep diving and underwater welding, underscoring a pioneering milestone in the country’s efforts to build a skilled workforce for underwater asset maintenance.

The Ross Eagle, a 2003-built platform supply vessel (PSV) constructed by Brattvaag Shipyard and owned by Eagle Offshore AS, has recently completed the first phase of upgrades to boost its operational versatility and meet the rising need for specialized offshore vessels (SOV).
