The Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) and the Department of Commerce’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) agreeing to collaborate on areas of mutual interest with respect to Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) energy activities and environmental stewardship.

Global Underwater Hub’s (GUH) 2023 Business Survey has emphasised the strength of the UK supply chain across the underwater sectors but warns that a continuing lack of project surety is impeding necessary investment.

NOAA has launched an interactive dashboard that indicates high compliance with endangered North Atlantic right whale mandatory vessel speed zones. The dashboard is generated from Automatic Identification Systems (AIS) data for vessels that are subject to existing mandatory speed regulations and allows users to explore vessel activity by speed, season, month, speed zone and vessel type. AIS is an automated safety tracking system that provides the location — and other information — of vessels in a given area.

Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and leading classification society DNV have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at KORMARINE, committing to establishing SHI's state-of-the-art Remote Operation Centre (ROC) for real-time monitoring and control of Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS). 

Intellian Technologies, Inc., a leading global technology and solutions provider for satellite communications, and Inmarsat Maritime, a Viasat business, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the development of a next generation GMDSS safety terminal, designed for operation over Inmarsat’s ELERA L-band network.
