Seawork is the annual meeting place for the commercial marine and workboat sector and is a proven platform to build business networks. It delivers an international audience of visitors supported by our trusted partners made up of the industry’s key associations and representative organizations.

This year’s focus is on how the commercial marine industry is adapting and innovating to face the dual pressures of reducing operational expenditure at the same time as meeting the mandatory targets to decarbonize operations.

Marine Civils drive much of the sectors activity and is again co-located with Seawork. It showcases the latest equipment and solutions for marine, coastal and other challenging civil engineering projects with unique landscape features.

New Vessels, Equipment and Services

The Seawork pontoons offer the opportunity to view innovative new vessels with the design focus on efficiency and reducing costs. This is in addition to the myriad of new items of equipment and services on display in 12,000m2 of undercover halls, that all help to extend the range of and streamline operations.

Seawork Conferences and Business Briefings

The Seawork Conferences have been revised to deliver shorter, bitesize, in-person sessions. This is to allow visitors to focus on the specific topics that are relevant and can make a difference to their organization, while maximizing the time for business at the exhibition.

UK Government Department Business Briefings

Once again there will be a strong presence at Seawork by UK Government Departments, including the National Shipbuilding Office (NSO), as well as Ministry of Defense (MOD) and the newly formed Department for Business and Trade (DBT) hosting business briefings.

Workboat 2050 series

The Commercial Marine Network (Seawork and Maritime Journal), in partnership with The Workboat Association, will continue with the third series of the informative Get Set For Workboat 2050.

These sessions look at practical applications of decarbonization and provide implementable examples of operators who are employing technology, innovation, and design to reduce their environmental footprint.

The Workboat Association will also be running a Safety Forum to highlight new regulations in this industry sector.

Tidal Projects with CECA

The Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) will host a Conference Session focused on ‘Understanding the Power of Tidal Projects’. Speakers from Industry leading projects TPGEN24 and TIGER (Tidal Stream Industry Energiser) will outline opportunities for marine civils in delivering key offshore infrastructure; the magnitude of investment needed to build and maintain tidal power projects; the benefits, resilience, and longevity of tidal green energy; and the environmental implications for this renewable energy sector.

Speed@Seawork returns to Cowes, on the Isle of Wight, with a new venue for 2023 in the shape of the historic Royal Yacht Squadron. The award-winning Pavilion on the Squadron lawn will welcome an international field of delegates. Speed offers Sea Trials to demonstrate the capabilities of fast vessels operating at high speed for security interventions and Search and Rescue (SAR). The focus is facilitating growth and development for the design, build and operation of these specialist vessels. Military and industry experts share their thoughts on future vessels and mission requirements, and the challenge of re-powering fast craft fleets in a changing world. This event is held the day before Seawork on Monday 12 June.

Training and Careers Day

Seawork is delighted to be working with Maritime UK and the Solent LEP to deliver an exciting Careers Fair for students on the final day of Seawork, 15th June 2023.

It will bring students and young people, aged between 15 and 19, to Seawork from local school, colleges, training centers, universities to see first-hand what a job in the commercial marine industry could look like and to gain insight as to the opportunities available.

The ECMAs & Innovation Showcase

Innovation is the key to future success. The European Commercial Marine Awards (ECMAs), incorporating the Innovations Showcase Category Awards, provide a platform for the latest equipment and designs as well as recognizing best practice and individual achievement we can all learn from.

Seawork will again provide the perfect platform for the commercial marine industry to connect, learn and share knowledge. It is a must visit for industry professionals that need to keep up to date with the latest developments and opportunities.
