Jee to Offer Free Training and Engineering Workshops at Offshore Europe 2015

Leading subsea engineering and training firm Jee Ltd is offering delegates of SPE Offshore Europe 2015 free technical subsea workshops over the course of the four day event.

Jee’s Head of Integrity Management Grant Adam, and Head of Pigging Paul Otway will lead the training workshops at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) from the 8 – 11 September, focussing specifically on pipeline spans and flexibles.

Jee has been training the global oil and gas industry for more than 20 years and, with all tutors also practising engineers, those heading up the workshops boast a wealth of up-to-date and relevant experience in the subsea sector.

Mr. Adam explained: “Ineffective integrity management has the potential to be extremely costly and damaging to both the asset and environment. Teaching young engineers about industry issues is essential to ensure this is mitigated.

“Unsupported sections of pipelines known as spans are common with an uneven seabed, and have the potential to cause serious issues if they are not efficiently assessed and managed.”

The company’s portfolio of 22 subsea engineering courses have become the benchmark for excellence in the industry, and assist in the global standardisation of engineering knowledge across the industry.

Mr. Adam continued: “Offshore Europe is known worldwide as an unrivalled platform for the industry to meet, discuss and debate the latest oil and gas issues. Exhibiting and offering free workshops to an international audience is an excellent way to demonstrate the breadth of expertise the Jee team possesses, and our understanding of the increasing demands on an ever changing industry.”

Jenny Matthew, Head of Training, will also be presenting a free workshop on cost-effective training solutions for the industry. Exploring the constraints and challenges learning managers are facing during the industry downturn, Ms Matthew will discuss a variety of ways Jee can help, such as its on demand learning and blended learning solutions, which can be tailored to suit any budget.

Ms. Matthew said: “We understand that in tough market conditions training budgets are under strain. To help alleviate this pressure, the team at Jee has developed flexible approaches to learning to ensure investment in training and staff development continues to be a viable option for our customers.”

Jee will also be holding a free workshop on the final day of the show for students and graduates, offering an introduction to flexibles. The workshop will explain the different types and uses of flexibles, riser configurations and the application of flexibles.

“The chosen theme for SPE Offshore Europe 2015 is ‘How to Inspire the Next Generation’, something that is at the heart of what we do at Jee. By nurturing talent through our industry leading training, and discussing exciting and challenging engineering projects, Jee strives to share its expertise and develop industry best practice” commented Mr Otway.

In addition, Jee will be offering delegates the opportunity to meet with their engineering experts to discuss their technical subsea challenges and low-cost solutions.
