ABL has promoted David Duffy to the position of ABL Group Director of Marine Assurance Services. He will be responsible for the management of ABL’s Marine assurance services related to the offshore energy and maritime marine warranty aspects of ABL’s marine assurance offering.
David, a Master Mariner with over 30 years of experience in the Marine and Offshore industries, will continue to serve in his current position of Country Manager in the UAE in addition to his new role.
ABL’s expert marine assurance team leverages the group’s extensive knowledge in marine operations and Marine assurance standards across the offshore renewables, oil & gas, and maritime sectors. Their comprehensive assessments ensure that vessels meet all necessary criteria for operational readiness, including compliance with flags, class, operating area regulations, and charterer specifications.
The team’s expertise spans multiple technical disciplines such as marine operations, dynamic positioning (DP), pipe-lay, lifting, dive systems, ROV arrangements, and helideck configurations to name a few.
ABL boasts significant experience in conducting client assurance surveys, condition surveys, suitability inspections and a range of industry-standard audits, including CMID (Common Marine Inspection Document), eCMID (covering main and small boats, ROVs, and dive systems), MISW, OVID (Offshore Vessel Inspection Database), MSF (Marine Safety Forum), and insurance industry JH surveys.
